We have swung the door wide open, and gone global. This year’s Writing Call Out is an open call dedicated to emerging voices from all over the world; and is a celebration of the myriad ways we present ourselves through the written word, through the doors that have opened (and closed) before us.
This year’s prompt is ‘Doors & Drawers’. What’s behind them, concealed within them, and frontiered beyond them? What curious winds are pushing them ajar? What’s slipped down the back of the cabinet, and got lost for good? Who’s knocking? In English language, and 500 words or less – in any format – be quick-witted, inventive and surprising.
The open call is presented in collaboration with our partner Montblanc. This year, Montblanc is celebrating ‘the art of the desk’ as a place of reflection and creation, exploring how its carefully curated assortment of writing instruments, accessories and other desktop delights becomes as a deeply personal expression of one’s imagination.
