Drawing from a range of ingredients is as central to Riaz’s writing as it is his cooking: ‘Capturing food memories means pulling from anything that triggers in the mind, from music lyrics to museum archives.’ Now an author, he’s been most proud when ‘older relatives see my works in print: they grew up in a time when their stories were overlooked’.
